Our Impact

Using business as a force for good.

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This is a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good.

Our Journey to B Corp Certification

Trineo was built on a fundamental value system, one that strives for great outcomes for its people (employees and customers) as well as traditional business metrics. With a presence in the USA, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Trineo is proud to be a part of a global community of more than 3,600 for-profit business leaders who have undertaken the rigorous assessment and are pledging to use business as a force for good.

The assessment measures a business’s ongoing impact on its workers, community and suppliers, customers, governance and the environment.

About B Corps

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balance purpose and profit. We are drivers of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. B Corps aspire to use the power of business to solve social and environmental problem.

B Corp Certification is a mark of trust: a promise that a company is doing business in a way that meets rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. B Lab, a third-party non-profit certifies it.

To obtain B Corp certification, a company must complete a B Impact Assessment (BIA) and earn an audited minimum score of 80 out of 200 possible points and recertify - with the aim to continuously improve - every three years.

The Seva Grant

The Seva Grant is a Trineo sponsored $100,000 NZD fund that is open to organisations with objectives that directly or indirectly make a positive impact on our planet. Trineo recognises that there are a lot of ways to make an impact, and for the 2021 grant applications we are focussed on improving biodiversity.

The Seva Grant is a co-investment. We expect applicants to provide some funding for the outcome they wish to achieve. The extent of co-investment is dependent on the organisation and determined scope of work. We’re intentionally not overly prescriptive about the level of co-investment required because ultimately we believe it’s the intent which matters and will invest in projects we believe will make a lasting impact.

The Seva Grant is a co-investment grant suited to any organisation that has:
- A project already in mind,
- Executive-level support, and
- Internal expertise to take ownership of the solution once built, and the engagement has finished.

We implore all organisations to submit their biodiversity focused initiatives to the Seva Grant. Projects can be any digital solution that adds value to the Customer Experience, Employee Experience or Optimised Organisation. Examples include but are in no way limited to:

- Communications portal to manage data, information and integrate business process
- Salesforce set up: capture data, create workflows, connect customer/sales cycles
- Community management using Salesforce
- Donor management using Salesforce
- Identity and access management: customer, employee, personalisation
- Data infrastructure: telemetry, capture, storage, structure, APIs, analytics
- Custom application development

We believe that every organization should serve multiple stakeholders: employees, customers, communities, shareholders and our environment/nature. This list is balanced and holistic. If you reflect on this list for a moment, it becomes apparent that decisions are made more complex and nuanced because one has to take more variables into consideration. There’s a more complete sense of responsibility there that may not be at the top of mind for companies that are driven purely by financial considerations.

Ours is the harder path to travel, and it leads to a better outcome in the long term.
